나는 정말 천지삐까리도 모르고 온 천지를 들이 받는 동물로 살다가, 30살이 넘어 인간이 됐다고 가끔 농담처럼 말한다. 그런데, 정말 30살이 되고나니, 전에는 보이지 않던 것들이 보이고 다른 사람도 좀 더 배려할 줄 알게 되었다. ‘대망’의 글을 빌리자면 혈기만 밑는 투쟁심으로 가득찬 삶을 살다가 그 단계를 넘어섰던 것 같다.

 이제 나는 불혹(不惑)을 넘어섰다. 책에서는 불혹은 자신이 이제 완성되었다고 생각하고 자만심이 생기는 시기라 말하지만, 아직 나는 아니올시요다. 30살이 넘어설 때보다 다른 사람의 감정을 더 잘 이해하고, 배려할 수 있게되긴 했지만, 내가 불혹을 넘어서 달라진 것은 그것이 아니다. 되려 내 가치관에 따라 삶을 살아갈 주 알게 됐다는 점이 내게 더 중요하다.

그리고 아직은 자만심을 가질만큼의 수준에 이르지 못했다는 사실을 잘 알고 있지만, 자그만한 몇몇의 성공에 도취해 혹은 낮은 수준의 주위환경을 기준으로 삼아 스스로가 완성되었다고 생각하는 것에 대해서는 분명히 경계하고 또 경계해야한다.   .

그를 키워주려는 셋사이 선사의 도움으로 대장 훈련을 받는다.

책을 보면서 문득 생각이 떠올랐다.

“셋사이 (雪齋) 선사가 도쿠가와 이에야스(德川家康)에게 가르친 대장 훈련이 내게도 유용할까?”

 사실 나는 책 속에서 셋사이 선사가 가르친 대로 이 거친 세상을 살아가면 굶어 죽기 십상(十常)이라고 배웠다.  실제로 내 생활에서도 그랬다. 인격이 완성되지 못한 상태에서 어설프게 옛말을 따르려다가, 다리가 찢어진 뱁새가 되고 말았다. 

 나처럼 아직 수양이 부족한 사람에게는 도쿠가와 이에야스 보다는 직무에 맞지 않는 사람을 동기 부여시키려고 애쓰는 것은 소용없는 일이라는 짐 콜린스, Jim Collins의 이야기가 더 현실성 있다. 그리고 짐 콜린스가 그의 책 “좋은 기업을 넘어 위대한 기업으로, Good to Great”에서 말하는 적합한 사람들을 적합한 자리에 앉히고 부적합한 사람들을 버스에서 내리게 해야 우리는 버스를 멋진 곳으로 몰고 갈 방법을 알게 된다는 서술에 공감이 간다.

제게는 3살이 된 예쁜 딸아이가 하나 있습니다. 

아내는 예쁜게 아니라 귀여운 거라고 자꾸 말하지만, 저도 고슴도치 부모를 벗어나지 못해서인지 그저 예쁘게만 보입니다.

그런데 '뽀로로'와 '타요'면 충분했던 이 아이가 저는 '만화'라고 부르는 '디즈니 애니메이션에 관심을 가지기 시작했습니다.

처음에는 '겨울왕국'에서 공주님만 찾더니, 관심이 '모아나'로 넘어가고, 또 '도리'에게 관심이 갔다가 요즘은 '인사이드 아웃'을 계속해서 보고 있습니다.

제가 '오븐 클라우드'에 관심을 가지게 된 건 순전히 요즘 디즈니 애니메이션을 즐겨 보는 제 3살배기 딸 때문입니다.

처음에는 TV에 노트북을 HDMI로 연결해서 보여줬었는데, 아이에게 밥을 먹이기 위해 매번 밥 때마다 핸드폰이나 태블릿으로  '뽀로로'나 '타요'를 보여준게 문제였습니다. 어느순간부터 밥을 먹으면서 '엘사 공주님'을 찾기 시작했기 때문입니다. .

처음에는 매번 UBS에 저장해 태블릿이나 핸드폰으로 영상을 보여 줘야 겠다고 생각했었는데, 생각하자 마자 얼마나 귀찮을까 싶은 생각이 머리속을 헤집고 다니면서, Baidu를 비롯해 Google Drive, MS Office online, MEGA 같은 클라우드 서비스에 관심이 가기 시작했습니다. 

클라우드 서비스를 이용하면 태블릿으로 밥 먹이며 만화를 보여 줄 수 있을 뿐만 아니라, 큰 화면으로 보여 주어야 할 때는 TV나 프로젝터에서 지원하는 스크린 쉐어 기능을 활용하면 태블릿의 화면을 대화면으로 옮기면 될 것 같았습니다. 

그런데 문제는 제가 사용하기에는 Baidu나 MEGA가 큰 문제가 없지만, 딸래미와 거의 대부분의 시간을 보내는 아내에게는 Baidu나 MEGA가 별로 입니다. 

그래서 아내도 쉽게 사용할 수 있는 서비스를 찾다가 발견 한 것이 바로 '오븐 클라우드'입니다. 게다가 '오븐 클라우드'는 비디오 스토리지를 지향하는 클라우드 서비스니 만큼, 딸아이에게 만화를 보여줘야 하는 제게 아주 딱입니다.
